Upbeat Landlords continue to grow portfolios as CML announces
another B2L record
New data from Paragon Mortgages’ Buy-to-Let Index shows that rental yields remain
stable as confident landlords continue to invest in additional properties. In
the first half of 2006, the private rented sector performed strongly, with renewed
demand for rented homes from inward migrants and other types of tenant, leading
investors to grow their portfolios. According to recent data from the Council
of Mortgage Lenders (CML), the value of new buy-to-let loans extended to landlords
reached a record ?17.5 billion in the first 6 months of 2006, 20% higher than
in the second half of 2005.

CoOp Opens City Centre Store in West Point
Rather than operating a traditional
mini supermarket, the Co-op city store will focus much more on premium fresh
food and chilled ready meals targeting both surrounding workers and residents.
It is open from 7am until 11pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This opeing
together with the recently opened Breeze restaurant and take-away makes West
Point one of the few mixed use development schemes in Leeds to be equiped with
the essentials needed for a city centre life.

Breeze Opens at West Point
Breeze has a take-away counter where patrons
can buy fresh salads, homemade sandwiches and pastries. It also has a 60 seat
restaurant and bar which is open weekdays from 7.30am until 11pm offering breakfast,
lunch and dinner from a blackboard menu that will change daily.The restaurant
successfully launched to the public in August including a deli counter selling
a comprehensive range of foods including cheese, ham, pepperoni, artichokes and
olives.
